Almost Murder

I painted these two lovelies today. I was a little surprised how they came out, since I haven't painted in acrylics in a very long time.

'Almost Murder' (1 & 2) 8x8 inch, acrylic on silver & gold primed canvas
They will be sold at a fundraiser for the Artist's in Middleburg. The participating artists were given a gold and/or silver 8x8 canvas to paint. They will be sold at the event on Dec 4 for $75 and all proceeds will go into the AiM Scholarship Fund. They ended up being a lot of fun to do, and I may create a series based on these.

This made me smile Saturday

The ultimate reward. Saturday I received this email and it made my day.

"Thank you so much for the wonderful job you did creating the portrait of Dante for Sally to
give me. It was the best gift ever! Here's a picture of Dante posing with his likeness.
Thanks again!
Wendy and Dante"

I'm glad to have this thing inside me that I can share with others that makes us smile. Thank you Wendy. Dante it was a pleasure to work on this painting of you.

Siamese if you Please

Love the eyes on this guy.
Work in progress…
more posts as he develops. Painting is kind of mystical process to me, I never feel like I'm the one doing it, that I'm watching someone else painting.

Happy National Women's Equality Day, Happy National Dog Day

Happy National Dog Day, Cassie!

Over the years I've had the privilege of painting some wonderful dog portraits. Take a look.

In 1920 women were guaranteed the right to vote. I am grateful for those brave women who fought for this and I exercise my right every election day by voting for the lesser of two evils.

Early Walk w Cassie Girl, then morning Pinterest experiment (including bloodshed)

Woke early this Sunday morning. I like how quite it is Sunday mornings, so Cassie and I set out for adventure. Just some bunnies, and the melodies of feathered friends. Home again, home again, jigity jig. We shared a breakfast of eggs over easy & homemade oatmeal muffin. As I scanned Pinterest on my phone, I noticed a diy for these cute sakura flowers,

so I decided to give them a try. Of course - PAPER CUT! After a lot of cursing and a Mickey band-aid the experimentation continued. I don't have any Japanese or origami paper and my drawing paper proved to be too thick, so I tried wrapping paper - didn't come out too bad. I may have to purchase some appropriate paper and do some more :)

Now what next? Any suggestions Cassie?

Orange Splash

I love to garden. Since moving to an apartment, I miss it, but at least I have my garden gallery :)

Are you there?

I know I've been absent from my blog for a while - been distracted by unforeseen events these past months and I'm trying to get back on track. I've been mostly posting to Facebook - sometimes that's all I can keep up with. www.facebook.com/RemingtonCreations

Summer's already half over, but plenty of warm days to enjoy.
