This made me smile Saturday

The ultimate reward. Saturday I received this email and it made my day.

"Thank you so much for the wonderful job you did creating the portrait of Dante for Sally to
give me. It was the best gift ever! Here's a picture of Dante posing with his likeness.
Thanks again!
Wendy and Dante"

I'm glad to have this thing inside me that I can share with others that makes us smile. Thank you Wendy. Dante it was a pleasure to work on this painting of you.

Siamese if you Please

Love the eyes on this guy.
Work in progress…
more posts as he develops. Painting is kind of mystical process to me, I never feel like I'm the one doing it, that I'm watching someone else painting.

Happy National Women's Equality Day, Happy National Dog Day

Happy National Dog Day, Cassie!

Over the years I've had the privilege of painting some wonderful dog portraits. Take a look.

In 1920 women were guaranteed the right to vote. I am grateful for those brave women who fought for this and I exercise my right every election day by voting for the lesser of two evils.

Almost done with the latest pet portrait. I see a few little tweaks I'd like to add in the morning

Pit Bull Pet Portrait

This is Sahara - a happy, smiley dog I had the pleasure of painting for a friend to give as a birthday gift. It was a lot of fun working on a portrait with so much character.

Christmas Pet Portraits

These are the balance of the pet portraits I worked on before Christmas. I received some very nice comments about them and that makes me smile. The best thing is when my paintings give people joy :)

Two Bulldogs in progress

No rest for the weary :)
Sprayed the first portrait with fixative and while waiting for it to dry, I started on another one.

2 more beautiful cats

I stopped posting the paintings I'm working on the past few days, since one of my clients was concerned about the recipient might see it and ruin the surprise.

Delivered this painting today - she said I could share it since the recipient won't see it.  :)

Pair of cuties finished

This one was a little challenging, but finally finished.
Working on these pet portraits for clients who are giving them as Christmas gifts kinda makes me feel like a Santa's elf.

Two Old Buddies - pet portrait

I finished the "Two Old Buddies" pet portrait. I like the way they are never apart.

It was a pleasure getting to know these two trough this painting.

holy crape - the year is almost over

My husband's hospital stay the week after Thanksgiving certainly has put a bit of a snag in my holidays, but I am infinitely grateful to have him better and at home now. Blog has been put aside while I try to catch up on my holiday projects. Of course, since I like to complicate things, I plan a get-together for New Years day. I also managed to get a pet portrait fit in there too - here is a glimpse of the little cutie-pie kitten - Muffin.

I hope everyone is having Happy Holidays and I hope the New Year brings you opportunity, peace & happiness.
