I finished the latest pet portrait. 5 dog heads 14x11 inches, pastel pencils. I'll be delivering it this weekend.

working on a new pet portrait (5 dogs) plus sales flyer

I'm currently working on 2 jobs this week. A sales flyer for a local business and a pet  portrait of 5 dog heads that will be a birthday present.

The finished size will be 11x14 - it's the first time I've done so many at one time. I'm using Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper in one the speckle-tone-colors. since each of the heads will end up being kind of small, I'm using just pastel pencils, instead of pastel sticks as I normally would. Here is what I've accomplished so far. Comments are always welcome.  :)

We have this lovely dog we adopted from the shelter over a year ago, a gorgeous lab/shepherd mix. All shiny black with a touch of white on her chest. I am greeted in the mornings buy a soft furry black nose nuzzling me "good morning" & I open my eyes to those pretty brown eyes looking back. I created an etsy treasury highlighting the talented work of dog-loving artists creating things for other dog lovers. I thought I'd share it with you.

New Artwork - Lighthouse series

Last fall I tried to order some mats online for my 8x10 prints, but I ordered the wrong size by mistake, so now I have a pack of 25 8x10 mats with a 5x7 opening.
So, recently I've decided to paint some 5x7 paintings to fit in these mats. I thought doing some series would be a good exercise. My first series will be four Outer Banks lighthouses. I painted the first of these this weekend, here's how it came out. It is Ocracoke Island Lighthouse.

new crocuses in my painted garden
