Hot, Sticky, Crabby

Good Morning! It's gonna be a hot sticky one here, but I'm trying not to be crabby about it (coffee helps). Unfortunately for this guy, he can't help being anything but crabby

220 Steps

I love the Outer Banks and I especially love Corolla, NC. It was a special favorite place for my husband and I. This is Currituck Light. 220 steps to the top where awaits a gorgeous view of Corolla, the ocean and The Whalehead Club. We have spent vacations in Corolla probably 20 times over the years and were even married in Corolla. Wonderful, wonderful memories. Every visit to the Outer Banks, I've visited this lighthouse and climbed the 220 steps to the beautiful view not seen anywhere else.

Currituck Light. The original painting is 11x14, watercolor on illustration board.

Let the Shopping Begin

That autumn nip in the air - starting to think of the holidays and shopping for gifts. It's also my busy season for shows and holiday fairs.

It'll be an exciting, busy weekend coming up. My niece is visiting me from NJ and she volunteered to help me out at the Fall Shopping Frenzy www.remingtoncreations.com/Fall_Shopping_Frenzy/

I am donating this painting to the silent auction that will be taking place at this event. I asked my Facebook peeps to help me decide which painting to donate the Beach Scene was the favorite.

Sleepless in... plus some ATC

Sleepless in....   fill in the blank - we've all had those nights that sleep just never comes, like he lost our address or something. Well last night was one of those nights for me, now I'm operating on 2 hours sleep for the past 39 hours. After lying awake in bed for several hours, I got up and made these little artist's trading cards (ATC) I guess it helped because I was asleep 45 min after these were done, and my alarm went off less than 2 hours later

New Artwork - Lighthouse series

Last fall I tried to order some mats online for my 8x10 prints, but I ordered the wrong size by mistake, so now I have a pack of 25 8x10 mats with a 5x7 opening.
So, recently I've decided to paint some 5x7 paintings to fit in these mats. I thought doing some series would be a good exercise. My first series will be four Outer Banks lighthouses. I painted the first of these this weekend, here's how it came out. It is Ocracoke Island Lighthouse.
